Safety Services Nova Scotia offers the following Certificate Programs. All courses must be SSNS courses. Any deviation from this policy would weaken the quality of our Certificate Programs.

Joint OH&S Committee Certificate
|
Credits: 3
This certificate covers the fundamental concepts to effectively participate in a corporate Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. The following three SSNS courses are required to achieve this certificate.
- Occupational H&S Committee (1credit)
- Workplace Inspections (1 credit)
- Incident Investigation (1 credit)

Joint OH&S Committee Certificate Level II
|
Credits: 7
In addition to Joint OH&S Committee Certificate 1 (3 Credits), the following four SSNS courses (4 Credits) are required to achieve this certificate.
- Managing Workplace Violence (1 credit)
- Risk Assessment (1 credit)
- Due Diligence (1 credit)
- One NSSC Elective (1 credit)

Supervisor Safety Certificate

Credits: 6
The Supervisor Safety Certificate program provides a strong foundation for new and existing managers and supervisors within your organization. The program is based on six credits, including Due Diligence for Supervisors, Advanced Incident Investigation, and Supervisor Skills. The following three SSNS courses (6 Credits) are required to achieve this certificate.
- Due Diligence for Supervisors (2 credits)
- Advanced Incident Investigation (SIIP)(2 credits)
- Supervisor Skills OR Instructional Techniques (2 credits)

Health & Safety Professional Certificate - HSP Designation
|
Credits: 30
This program consists of 11 compulsory modules and 3 additional electives totalling 30 credits.

- SSNS Due Diligence/Bill C45 (1/2 Credit)
- SSNS Risk Assessment (1/2 Credit)
- SSNS Industrial Hygiene (2 Credits)
- SSNS Fall Protection (1 Credit)
- SSNS Confined Space Entry (2 Credits)
- SSNS Lockout (1 Credit)
- SSNS Practical Loss Control Leadership (PLCL) Home Study Program (2 Credits)
- SSNS Joint OHS Committee Certificate Program Level I (3 Credits)
- SSNS Supervisor Safety Certificate (SSC) (6 Credits)
- SSNS Auditing Techniques (5 Credits)
- SSNS Practical Project (4 Credits) Plus
Electives
Individuals must choose 3 electives from a variety of safety electives offered by SSNS.
As stated all courses must be SSNS courses.
